Passion for nutrition

My passion for nutrition is not only a career but also a way of life for me. I am a true believer in the power of food to prevent disease, optimize health and wellness and change the way you look and feel. It is an extremely rewarding field to be in as I get to see the amazing rewards clients reap from a good diet; life freeing weight loss, improved energy and fitness, to reversing the side effects of chronic diseases, smoother skin, more restful sleep, improved digestion, and learning how to eat normally again. I am constantly looking for ways to deepen my nutrition and wellness knowledge and bring the newest information to my clients.

Rachel’s Background

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Dietetics with a minor in Kinesiology from Indiana University. I then completed my dietetic internship through the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, New Jersey with a selected focus in Nutrition Education and Counseling. Over the course of this graduate internship I found my true calling in outpatient counseling and wellness programs.

My education included extensive course work in anatomy and physiology, nutrition in the life cycle, public health, microbiology, biochemistry, food chemistry, metabolism and clinical nutrition, complementary and integrative medicine, outpatient nutrition therapy as well as courses in exercise sciences and sports nutrition.

After working for a nutrition program focused on nutrition for new mothers and babies and spending time counseling clients in large scale wellness centers, I established my private practice in 2011.

I then went on to earn my board certification as specialist in sports dietetics (CSSD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

My academic background and specialty experience have given me a deep, broad understanding of how the human body works and how to devise a nutrition plan to the unique needs of the individual.
